aThe Boy Who Cried Wolf
Once upon a time, in a small village nestled in a valley, there lived a shepherd boy whose job was to look after the sheep. Each day, he would take the flock to a nearby hillside to graze. Although the work was easy, the boy often found himself bored and lonely.
One day, seeking entertainment, he thought of a trick to amuse himself. He ran down to the village, shouting, "Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is attacking the sheep!"
The villagers, alarmed and armed with tools, rushed up the hill to help him. But when they arrived, they found no wolf, just the boy laughing at their concern. "Don't cry wolf when there's no wolf, boy," they warned, returning to their work.
The boy, however, found their reaction amusing. A few days later, he played the same trick. Again, the villagers hurried up the hill, and again, they found no wolf. Frustrated, they scolded him, "This is not a joke! If there’s really danger, we may not believe you next time."
Not long after, a real wolf appeared on the hill. The boy, terrified, shouted at the top of his lungs, "Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is attacking the sheep!" But this time, the villagers, weary of his lies, ignored him.
The wolf attacked the flock, and many sheep were lost. The boy sat down, crying, as he realized the consequences of his actions.
