The Honest Farmer

Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a hardworking farmer named Raj. He owned a small piece of land, which he cultivated with love and care. One day, while plowing his field, he discovered an old, rusty lamp buried in the soil. As he rubbed it to clean it, a genie appeared from the lamp.

The genie, with a warm smile, granted Raj three wishes. "What do you wish for?" the genie asked. Raj thought for a moment, then said, "I wish for a bigger farm to grow more crops and help my family." The genie granted the wish, and Raj’s small plot of land turned into a vast, fertile farm.

But Raj didn’t stop there. "I also wish for wealth," he said, thinking of the struggles his family faced. Once again, the genie granted the wish, and Raj’s house filled with riches.

The final wish was a more difficult one. Raj pondered for a while before finally saying, "I wish for a life full of happiness and peace." The genie granted this wish too.

However, there was a catch—Raj had to be honest with himself. As Raj became wealthier, he noticed the changes in the village. People started to envy him. His once peaceful life was disturbed by jealousy, and people began accusing him of dishonesty.

One day, a villager came to him and accused Raj of tricking the genie. “You didn’t earn this wealth. It was a gift, and you didn’t deserve it!” the villager shouted. The villagers gathered, and they began questioning Raj’s integrity.

Raj took a deep breath, knowing the only way to restore peace was through honesty. He admitted to the villagers that everything he had was granted by the genie, but he also told them how he had used his new wealth to build schools, provide jobs, and donate to those in need. He confessed that although the riches came easily, the true value of his life came from helping others.

The villagers, seeing his genuine heart, forgave him. Raj had finally achieved the happiness and peace he longed for. From that day forward, Raj was known not only for his wealth but for his honesty and generosity.

Moral :

True wealth is not just measured in material possessions but in the integrity of one’s heart and the impact on others.
