Liam and Noah had been best friends since childhood. Growing up in a small town, they did everything together—playing in the fields, climbing trees, and dreaming about their future. Though they were different in many ways, their bond remained unbreakable.

The next day, they decided to take a different route, hoping to explore new sights. As they climbed higher, the trail became steeper and more challenging. Suddenly, Liam slipped on loose gravel and fell, injuring his ankle. He winced in pain, unable to stand.
Panic set in as they realized there was no cell signal to call for help. Liam looked at Noah, worried. “You should go back and get help,” he said.
Noah shook his head. “I’m not leaving you alone.”
He helped Liam to a nearby rock and tore a piece of his own shirt to wrap around Liam’s ankle. Then, he built a makeshift crutch from branches and helped Liam move slowly. It was a long and difficult journey back, but Noah never once complained. He encouraged Liam with jokes and stories, keeping his spirits high.
Hours later, they finally reached the base of the mountain, where they found help. Liam was taken to a hospital, and the doctor assured him he would recover soon. As he lay on the hospital bed, he looked at Noah and said, “You could have gone ahead and saved yourself the trouble, but you stayed.”
Noah shrugged. “That’s what friends do.”
The Lesson of Friendship
Liam realized that true friendship wasn’t about fun and adventure—it was about standing by each other through difficult times. It wasn’t about who laughed with you in happy moments but who held your hand when things got tough.
From that day on, their friendship became even stronger. They knew that no matter where life took them, they would always have each other’s backs.
